Meyer and Burger saw Model TS-23 (Fig. 2) with cutting-edge automatic handling methods. Upon completion, a vacuum retrieval system swiftly transfers each slice into a cassette. These cassettes are conveniently placed on a carousel, which indexes with each fill. Notably, the Model TS-23 stands alone as the sole saw utilizing an air bearing, meticulously developed over four years to offer optimum support for an ID blade. The blade experiences vibration-free motion through jets of air impinging upon its tension-held spindle.
