Mühlbauer's CMI 202 is a combined milling and assembly system for standard ID-1 smart card applications. It is characterized by the highest yields with a throughput of up to 5,000 cards per hour. The CMI 5001 offers the Mühlbauer technology and quality that has been tried and tested for decades and is well known in the smart card business.

Mühlbauer’s CI 100 is an economic, automatic inspection system for ID-1 plastic cards in compact design. The basic system inspects the surface and prints on one side of the card. It provides automated 100% inspection of every card with a throughput of up to 5,000 cards per hour. The system can detect print and surface deviations of plastic cards on the fly. This inspection system is extremely versatile with a variety of options allowing for customer specific configurations such as double-sided print and surface inspection, as well as one additional inspection station per side, for example fUV or micro text.

With the new DS MERLIN Mühlbauer was able to achieve a new record throughput of up to 30,000 UPH already including full vision and sidewall inspection. On top of the significantly increased speed, the MERLIN shows 20% lower cost of ownership compared to DS 20000. The completely new construction method of the MERLIN’s core module shows a special die ejector and a pick & place wheel instead of the conventional dual bond heads and Z-Phi units. The machine and product setup have also been significantly simplified. With the completely automatic self alignment system a complex and long lasting change over and set up time are no longer required. New products can be teached faster and easier than ever before. Due to the new construction, the inspection system shows even more stable results, especially for the sensitive die frontside inspection. A more intuitive software interface and an enhanced wafer handling complete this brand new die sorting system.

DS MERLIN

Mühlbauer's CMP 2020 is designed for pre-cutting and die-cutting of GSM cards (SIM cards) or other shapes from an ID-1 plastic card according to ISO standards or individual customer requirements. The new Replug technology offers maximum flexibility for different tooling configurations. The CMP 2020 can be equipped with up to three punching tools, making the system the ideal equipment to punch semi-cut SIM, mini-SIM, mini-visa and paper GSM cards in one pass. Cards are processed from magazine to magazine. A pick-and-place system automatically feeds incoming cards to the punching and pre-cutting stations. An optional vision system verifies the punching position and complete removal of waste.

Mühlbauer's SCI 5001 is a high-speed IC module assembly system for ID-1 smart cards. The system is designed for medium-sized to large production tasks. With its economical placement process, flexible design and extremely high accuracy, the SCI 5001 guarantees outstanding uptime and offers a high yield with a throughput of up to 5,000 cards per hour.

The GSM 6000 series is a modular platform for electrical and graphic personalization of SIM cards and pay TV cards. With up to 24,000 cards per hour, the system achieves the highest throughput on the market worldwide. In addition to single and dual SIM cards, the GSM 6000 PLUS can even process quarter SIMs. The high-speed chip encoding solution combines a new combi-head that is fully scalable. It requires no retooling and thus guarantees maximum flexibility in production. With up to 128 parallel chip encoding units in 32 card slots, the system achieves unparalleled performance, with longer encoding times of up to 18 sec. possible without any loss of speed.

A major advantage in terms of graphic personalization results from the integrated Mühlbauer high-speed laser. It guarantees the highest laser lifetime of up to 75,0000h (10 years+) while providing higher quality, e.g. deep black and more robust graphic personalization results. Up to four Mühlbauer high-speed laser systems can be integrated.

DS 15000 is a revolutionary system for high volume Tape & Reel die sorting. Thanks to the unique double indexer technology, 24-hour continuous operation with a throughput of up to 15,000 chips/hour can be guaranteed. In addition, the innovative and ergonomic design of the pull-out indexer allows easy access and therefore efficiency during maintenance work and when changing the output coil. Corresponding to all die sorting systems available from Mühlbauer, the optical quality control of 100% of the dies is also included as standard with the DS 15000.
