Description

System Configuration: The Laser Marking System consists of a CDRH Class I, 20-Watt (W) (1064 nm) Laser System, an interlocked safety enclosure, a scan head, a shutter, a Z axis, a smoke evacuation system, a Laser Control Box (LCB) and a human machine interface (HMI) computer running the Windows operating system. The system uses LaserGraf32, a Windows-based graphic laser editor that generates laser view files used by the laser system. System Description: The Laser Marking System is a CDRH Class I with the following features: -Laser Marker: The Laser Marker is equipped with a 20 Watt (W) Ytterbium laser and shutter. Safety Interlocks: The laser system is equipped with interlock capabilities. The installed interlocks close the laser shutter for safety purposes should the enclosure open during processing. -Electronic Enclosure: The electronics enclosure, bolted on a frame, contains the main power disconnect, control relays, power supplies and System Input/Output (I/O). The main power coming in to the system is 120 VAC Single Phase. -Windows PC: The main controller in the system is the Windows PC. The Windows PC controls the process, the IO, data transfer and Z axis. It communicates with the mark engine. -Laser Control Box: The Laser Control Box (LCB) contains the mark engine PC, which controls the laser and marking scan head. Laser files created by the Windows PC are sent to the LCB for processing. The mark engine communicates with the Windows PC using an Ethernet network connection. -Optics: The output lens that focuses the beam is a 4-inch scan lens. -Fume Extraction: The laser system is equipped with a Fume Extraction System used to remove smoke and debris from the mark area.
