Overview

The FEI Verios 460 is a cutting-edge, ultra-high resolution scanning electron microscope (SEM) designed for use with biological and material samples. Installed in 2014, this microscope has an accelerating voltage range of 1-30 keV and a low voltage range of 350 – 1000 eV, with a probe current range of 0.78 pA – 100 nA. The FEI Verios 460L is a unique SEM that allows for ultra-high resolution imaging at low energy on insulating samples without the need for a conductive coating. It is equipped with a wide array of low and high energy electron detectors, including a transmission detector and an energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer.
