In 1973 Electroglas introduced the revolutionary 1034X wafer prober, which reduced operator involvement with a high-speed, friction less, automatic positioning system. It was based on a proprietary linear motor technology, the “Sawyer motor” which was originally developed in the ’70s to drive large scale plotters.
