Cohu acquires Delta Design, supplier of test handling solutions.

The Delta EDGE is a pick-and-place handler that combines an economical design with a small footprint and fast index time (processing speed of the contactor placement mechanism). The EDGE handler is designed to meet the needs of integrated circuit manufacturers and subcontractors who test at ambient and hot temperatures.

The Delta Castle is a pick-and-place test handler capable of thermally conditioning devices from -60 degrees Celsius to +160 degrees Celsius. The Castle can position from one to nine devices for testing. Its large thermal soak chamber provides a continuous flow of thermally conditioned devices to the test site allowing the handler to process parts at high speed when running at temperature. The Castle incorporates an innovative vertical tray storage system that saves space on the test floor by minimizing the handler’s footprint.

Delta Design Summit ATC is a pick-and-place thermal handler specifically designed for manufacturers of microprocessors, graphic processors, and other high-speed, high-power integrated circuits. The Summit series incorporates Delta's proprietary thermal control technology to effectively dissipate the heat generated during testing, enabling the integrated circuits to be tested at their maximum speed and performance. The ATC (Active Thermal Control) and PTC (Passive Thermal Control) models offer efficient heat management, ensuring successful testing under demanding conditions.

Delta’s Castle handlers incorporate a patented vertical tray handling system that provides high input/output automation in an extremely small footprint. The system is available in both memory and logic configurations. Castle Mx32 provides parallel testing of up to thirty-two devices. Castle Lx offers the same small footprint as the Mx32. Castle EC is interface compatible with the existing Castle Lx system and permits the addition of external process modules, such as input loading, extended sort categories, laser mark, etc. Delta’s Castle Lx is a hot and cold pick-and-place handler and it is capable of thermally conditioning devices from -60C to +160C. The Lx can position from one to nine devices for testing. Its large thermal soak area provides a steady flow of thermally conditioned devices to the test site allowing the handler to process parts at high speed when running at temperature. The Castle contains an innovative vertical tray storage system which saves space on the test floor by minimizing the handler’s footprint.

Delta’s VTS300, is an automated burn-in system that is capable of processing numerous low power circuits simultaneously. The VTS300 supports asynchronous loading and unloading of devices without system interruption to transform the burn-in process from a traditional batch-oriented process to a more efficient continuous-flow process.

The Model 2040, or RFS, is a fast-index time, pick-and-place handler, designed for high volume production applications. This handler’s large thermal storage capacity enables an uninterrupted flow of thermally conditioned devices to the test site. The RFS utilizes a patented contactor indexing mechanism to achieve an index time of approximately 500 milliseconds.

The Model 1688 is a compact pick-and-place handler with the rapid contactor indexing of the RFS™. It offers reliable high-speed performance, making it a cost-efficient choice for tests, especially when environmental adaptability isn't necessary, like in some wireless chip tests.
